//1 AM//
🌼🌼 I looked at my phone’s clock and sighed, so tonight was another night of the week I lacked sleep again, probably the third time of this week. When I was in Ho Chi Minh city, this was very normal for me and many of my friends, when we had to run a program, event or prepare for an important final exam in my university, we often overnight to study, run tasks. We usually gather in cafes that are open all day and then study there until early in the morning, on days like that we usually sleep only about 3-4 hours. Although I know that it is necessary for the upcoming projects and exams, but sometimes I ask myself that: "Why do I have to torture myself like that?". Objectively, I think I'm a person who doesn't love my health, and maybe you're probably just like me.

🌼 For about 2 years now, I often get a cold cough. Every time the seasons change or I visit my hometown, the weather’s temperature changes, my body appears illnesses such as cough, flu. There were some coughing spells lasting all week that made me very tired and lethargic. The days of such drowsiness often dragged on, I always felt itchy and coughed for many times in a day so I could not do more than lie in bed to rest. Since then, I started to be afraid of the rains or going out in the hot weather. When I was a child, my resistance was very good, but now almost every month I experience a long cold and flu with nasty headaches.
After 2 years in university, I have lost 6kg and my health has also decreased somewhat. That process is a methodical consumption. Instead of exercising and resting in my free times, I sit on the computer for 10-12 hours a day and half of which is just for watching movies, surfing Facebook or playing online games,... During my movie craze, there are many times I only sleep 4 hours a day. Except when I have to go to school and go out for other activities, I spend much of the day watching movies and reading comics. There are some nights I watch movies until 3am, then go to bed and get up to school at 6am. And when I quit the movie, comics for my work in the university, I also stay up late every night because of workload and deadlines. Nightfall is a quiet time for me to focus on work, but sometimes too much nervousness and stress lead me to have severe headaches. The harmful effects of staying up late for me are many such as memory loss, headache, dark circles around my eyes...
Everyone knows the harms of drinking a lot of alcohol, using cigarettes or lack of sleeping,... However, not everyone can love and protect the body from the temptations of life. The fact that sometimes you stay up late to finish a homework or go to a drink with your friends is not something wrong and it doesn't prove that you are a person who doesn't appreciate your health. But be careful with that, because you're probably harming your body more than you think.
People use their health in exchange for pleasures of life, money for later healing and nursing. Mostly in everyone's mind, perhaps the most precious thing that could be love, career, fame or something great, very few people remember that health is the most important tool for them to achieve these above things.
There is a saying: "People with health have one hundred wishes, people without health have only one wish that is health"
If you are lucky to be in good health, it means that you are on the verge of success in many areas of your life. And to maintain good health, you need to practice every day, but the most important thing is to keep not wasting your energy on unnecessary things.
Now, while being at home with my family, I start to gradually get into the habit of going to bed at 22 o'clock and stabilize my circadian clock. The outbreak of the Covid-19 epidemic has made me more aware of the importance of protecting my own health. I'm not sure if exercising and eating properly will improve my health in the future but above all I will keep it well as much as possible.
I tell this story with the hope that everyone reading this will make changes in the way they look and act to ensure the health of themselves and those around them. Only when you know how to protect your health can you protect the health of others.
