One hour for saving our planet

šŸŒ¼šŸŒ¼ When I was a child, I remember watching a live show on the National TV broadcast about responding to ā€œEarth Hourā€. During that live show, each reporter from South to North of the country would report live on their local response to this event, including three major cities of Vietnam are Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi and Da Nang. That day, I saw everyone joining their hands enthusiastically in response to the ā€œEarth Hourā€ event and I truly believed that someday in the future this earth would be much better than it was then.

Ten years after that day, the world has truly become much better than it was before. The strong development of science and technology has brought us to a golden age in the history of human development, our material and spiritual life has been greatly improved compared to before. However, everything is better except for one thing, the environment. Climate change and global warming are pushing nature into one of the most difficult periods in its history, indiscriminate hunting and forest exploitation have been pushing many plants and animals to the brink of extinction, global warming is causing the ice of the Arctic and Antarctic to melt. Many scientists predict that in about fifty years later, these two polar regions will completely disappear on our world map. That is a really the most terrible thing that can happen to our planet and nobody wants it, but what have we done to prevent it?

Over the past 10 years, the world has really done a lot of events, programs to protect the environment, to protect the earth. The awareness and understanding of the community about climate change and global warming has also increased significantly, however, a large part of the community is still indifferent and ignores those problems, they are engrossed in economic, material values ā€‹ā€‹and are willing to hurt and pollute this world as long as it still bring benefits to them. Typically, the event that Formosa Company discharged caused the mass death of sea fish in Vietnam 2016 or the USA withdrawal from the Paris agreement on climate change,... In 2010, a research organization called Pew released a report that only 37% of Americans and 40% of Britons think climate change is a serious problem. That reality is showing that some of us are just taking care of their own interests and ignore that this world is also in need of protection and care.

And you, did you remember the last time you responded to the ā€œEarth Hourā€ campaign? I guess that you don't because I also can't remember like you. In this evolving world, electrical devices play an irreplaceable role in our lives and for many people, they are inseparable for even a minute. Itā€™s sad that we are dependent on electronics and it will be very difficult for all of us to turn these devices off and leave them inactive for an hour in this modern world. However, no matter how difficult, I still recommend you should actively implement this campaign for the future of yourself and your loved ones. As Mr. Siddarth Das - the curator of the global ā€œEarth Hourā€ campaign 2021 once said: ā€œEarth Hour reminds us that while humans are on the frontier of the fight against climate change, we are on the first line of that front. Our actions today, from individual to global community, will be the driving force to change what the world is witnessing today for generations to come.ā€

So what can you do now? I think it will never be too late for you to care about and respond to this meaningful campaign. Everyone has their own set of conditions and abilities to speak up and act for nature in their own way, and here are some suggestions for you:

šŸ€The "Earth Hour" event is organized by the World Wide Fund (WWF) on one day in March every year and the day is chosen by this organization. Participants, including cities, individuals, and famous towers such as the Eiffel Tower (France),... will turn off the lights for 1 hour local time to demonstrate the importance of conserving energy and conserving resources. So why don't you try to respond to this campaign the next time it happens? Be sure that you have followed WWF's media channels so as not to miss out on any important information about the next "Earth Hour" event!

šŸ€Launching the tree planting movement to block sand, prevent coastal erosion, prevent saline intrusion, clean the environment, use electricity and water economically in households, factories, factories, schools and places. office, use environmentally friendly products, recycled products, reduce the use of plastic products,...

šŸ€Joining the exciting but equally meaningful challenges of WWF in this "Earth Hour" campaign, such as "four weeks of green life challenge" or "Walking for the environment",... All these challenges will give you chances to better understand the natural environment and a chance to cherish it better.

There are also many more interesting things that we can begin to try step-by-step to get back into living in harmony with nature. If you haven't taken the action yet and donā€™t know what to do, try getting motivation and tips from a movie, book or a trip. If you have been happily living green with the environment, please continue to spread and inspire your living style for more people around you. We are at a crossroads in the fight against climate change and the actions of turning off the lights in response to Earth Hour for each of us are small, but big enough to put a positive effect on the outcome of this thorny fight.
